View all search resultsTelecommunication company Telkomsel has seen a 16 percent increase in its broadband traffic as the public continues to follow physical distancing measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cellular operator Telkomsel, a subsidiary of state-owned communications company PT Telkom Indonesia, is providing Indonesian students with 30 gigabytes of free internet to support the government's physical distancing instruction.
"It's better to not have Telkom at all [with current conditions] and directly make Telkomsel a state-owned firm. Then, their dividends [earnings for the government] are clearer," State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir said during the launch of an internship program in Jakarta.
