-sports competition Indonesia Games Championship (IGC) is set to return this year. To run until September, it offers a total prize of Rp 1.6 billion (US$106,779.14).
With a target of more than 30,000 participants, IGC 2020 is open to all e-sports enthusiasts.
Two genres will be featured this year, namely Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) and Battleground Survival, both on PC and mobile game. Games for competition this year are League of Legends on PC and Freefire, Call of Duty Mobileand Arena of Valor (AOV) on mobile.
Registration is open until June and can be done online. A series of competitions will be held from July to August, while the Grand Final stage is scheduled to take place in September. The early stages of competition will be conducted online due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

IGC 2020 will air on news platform Dunia Games' website and YouTube channel, as well as video-on-demand app MAXstream available on Play Store and App Store.
“We’re conducting IGC 2020 on online platforms, so participants can contribute to improving the e-sports industry in Indonesia while still practicing physical distancing,” Rachel Goh, director of marketing at Telkomsel, told kompas.com.
Organized by cellular operator Telkomsel, the IGC was held in 2017 and 2018. The competitions gathered more than 22,000 participants from across Indonesia. (wir/wng)
