Indonesia’s senior diplomat has called on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to make haste on securing lasting peace in Gaza as the truce between Israeli forces and Palestinian militant group Hamas entered its third day.
EU nations have "different positions" on whether to recognize Palestine as a state, "but there is undoubtedly unanimity in the union on the need to support the solution based on the construction of the Palestinian state, because the state of Israel already exists," the union foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell says.
