London Underground started an all-nighter service on Friday after being delayed for months.
The Night Tube is expected to record 180,000 individual trips between 12.30 a.m. and 6 a.m., with more than half of them switching from existing bus and taxi routes. It will be a boost for tourists and shift workers, who on Friday and Saturday nights will be able to travel at any chosen hour.

The new service covers the Victoria and Central lines, passing neighborhoods around London such as Notting Hill and Brixton. Extension plans to this scheme will occur later on in the year to the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines, even reaching Heathrow Airport.
The night-time service was scheduled to start in September last year but was delayed by a dispute with trade unions over staff conditions and pay.
Though concerns were brought up regarding a possible increase in crime rates, London Mayor Sadiq Khan stated the British Police would be providing 100 more police officers to patrol the 144 stations that the night service reaches. (kha/kes)
