ore than two dozen yachts will arrive at Anambas and Natuna islands to participate in the Wonderful Sail Anambas to Natuna 2017 slated for June 6 to 15.

The event will collaborate with Sail Malaysia Passage to the East and will be joined by a total of 28 yachts carrying 150 foreign tourists. Held in cooperation with the two regency administrations, it seeks to promote Anambas and Natuna as the leading destinations for world cruises and motivate the infrastructure development of marine tourism.

“The event has been conducted for three years. The yachts are currently on their way to Anambas Islands and will arrive between June 6 and 10," said the Tourism Ministry's deputy for domestic tourism marketing Esthy Reko Astuti. "Upon arrival, the participants will undergo a clearance process and be welcomed by a gala dinner before continuing their journey to Natuna from June 12 to 15.”

Anambas Culture, Youth and Sports Agency head Iwan K. Roni says that necessary preparations have been made to welcome the guests, from welcoming dances to other activities while they are in Anambas.

"Participants will get to enjoy diving and snorkeling in Penjalin Island, tour Tarempa City and be introduced to Anambas’ cuisine and handicrafts,” added Iwan. (kes)
