Garuda Indonesia offers discount on aid deliveries to Lombok

Garuda Indonesia is offering a 50 percent discount on cargo services for aid supplies to Lombok following an earthquake that rocked the island.

ollowing a 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Sunday evening, national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has announced a 50 percent discount on its cargo services for aid supplies to the island.

Those who are seeking to use the service can contact Garuda Indonesia Cargo call center at (+6221) 23519090 or (+62) 8041909090.

The carrier also announced that all of its flights to and from Lombok were operating as usual as Lombok airport had not been affected by the quake and remained open. Garuda Indonesia flights to and from Bali were also running according to schedule.

To anticipate passenger movement following the earthquake, Garuda has added three extra flights on the Lombok-Denpasar route with the following schedule: GA7053 departing Lombok at 2:40 p.m. local time, GA4377 at 4:40 p.m. and. GA 4397 at 6:55 p.m.

Garuda Indonesia vice president corporate secretary Hengki Heriandono said in a statement that he hoped the additional flights would help people wishing to leave Lombok for Bali. 

The airline has advised passengers to re-check their flight schedule through its call center at (+62 21) 23519999 or (+62) 8041807807. (wir/kes)
