nited States Ambassador to Indonesia Sung Kim has expressed his condolences to the family of Novita Kurnia Putri, a 25-year-old Central Java woman who was killed in a tragic shooting incident in San Antonio, Texas, over the weekend. 

"My deep condolences to Novita’s family and friends in Indonesia who are suffering due to the tragedy in the United States. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and we have faith that justice will prevail," Kim said in a tweet on Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, Kim told reporters at the office of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin that local authorities in Texas were conducting an investigation into the incident.

"Local authorities are conducting a full investigation into this horrific crime and take full responsibility," he said as quoted by Antara.

Police in Texas said on Tuesday that Novita was killed when more than 100 rounds were fired at her building in a drive-by shooting, she appeared to have been mistakenly targeted in the crime.

Novita was working on her computer in her bedroom at Bald Mountain Drive at about 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday when the house came under intense fire, local news outlet mysanantonio.com reported.
