/o:p>President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is in Malaysia on Thursday to meet Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, during which they will discuss unfinished negotiations, including on land and maritime borders, as well as migrant labor protections.

Jokowi is expected to discuss the issues in a tête-à-tête at Anwar’s official residence in Putrajaya before witnessing several agreements being signed by ministries and agencies from both countries, according to a press release from Jokowi’s office.

Anwar is also scheduled to take Jokowi to visit Chow Kit, Malaysia’s largest wet market and a popular tourist destination located in the bustling heart of old Kuala Lumpur, for a coffee break.

In Kuala Lumpur later in the afternoon, Jokowi and Iriana are scheduled to visit Malaysian King Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah at the National Palace before returning to Indonesia.

Previously, Anwar met Jokowi at Bogor Palace in West Java in January in his first overseas outing since his inauguration as prime minister in November 2022. The two leaders discussed land demarcation and maritime border delimitation, as well as the development of the new capital city Nusantara, with Anwar handing over 11 letters of interest from 10 Malaysian companies regarding possible investments in Indonesia’s planned new capital.
