efense Minister Prabowo Subianto arrived in Amman on Monday to attend a high-level urgent humanitarian conference on the Gaza Strip, a visit happening following Indonesia’s recent announcement to step up its efforts in providing assistance for Palestinians and pushing for a permanent cease-fire.

International ire continues to grow as the death toll in Gaza surpasses 35,000, entering the eighth month of Israel's retaliatory strikes following Hamas’ unprecedented attack on Oct. 7, 2023, which left around 1,200 casualties based on Israeli tallies.
More countries are now calling for a truce and recognition of Palestinian statehood in order to fulfill a two-state solution regarded by many as the sole peaceful answer to the decades-long conflict in the Middle East.
Living conditions in the besieged Gaza have only worsened in recent days, especially after Israel began its military operation on the Rafah crossing that had been a key entry point for humanitarian aid.

The Tuesday conference in Amman, which is jointly organized by Jordan, Egypt and the UN, plans to outline possible measures at the heads of state and heads of relief organizations level for a coordinated international response to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
