President Prabowo Subianto has wrapped up his brief visit to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), during which he called for unity among Middle East countries amid rising tensions in the region following Israel’s attack on the Qatari capital Doha last week.

Israel has said it plans to seize the city, where about a million Palestinians have been sheltering, as part of its declared aim of eliminating the militant group Hamas, and has intensified attacks on what it has called Hamas' last bastion.

The trip is taking place after President Donald Trump rebuked Israel over the unprecedented attack against Hamas leaders meeting in Doha on Tuesday.

The vote comes ahead of a meeting of world leaders on Sept. 22 - on the sidelines of the high-level UN General Assembly - where Britain, France, Canada, Australia and Belgium are expected to formally recognize a Palestinian state.

Formally called the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, the text states "Hamas must free all hostages" and that the UN General Assembly condemns "the attacks committed by Hamas against civilians on the 7th of October."

"[Palestine] is a country, it is a nation, I will be representing an actual country," insisted Nadeen Ayoub, the first Palestinian to compete in Miss Universe.

Indonesia has reaffirmed its support for Qatar and called for diplomatic efforts toward a just and lasting peace in the Middle East based on a two-state solution.

President Prabowo Subianto will use his debut at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) this month to press for Palestinian statehood, the Foreign Ministry said, as it prepares for a flurry of meetings on the sidelines of the annual gathering.

Belgium will recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly, Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot said on Tuesday, adding to international pressure on Israel after similar moves by Australia, Britain, Canada and France.

An attack on Thursday killed the Huthis' prime minister, Ahmed Ghaleb Nasser Al-Rahawi, and other officials, the Iran-backed group has said.

An evacuation would provoke a massive population displacement that no other area in the Gaza Strip is equipped to absorb, amid severe shortages of food, shelter, and medical supplies, Spoljaric said.

The UN estimates that nearly a million people currently live in Gaza governorate, which includes Gaza City and its surroundings in the north of the territory.

An Indonesian Military (TNI) humanitarian mission dropped 10 tonnes of aid of food and other basic necessities over Gaza on Aug. 19, marking the second airdrop of humanitarian support in the war-torn enclave.

The call-up notices could be sent in the coming days, with reservists to report for duty in September, the military official said.

A row between Israel and France over Paris's plan to recognize a Palestinian state next month escalated to crisis level on Tuesday when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused President Emmanuel Macron of fomenting "antisemitism".

Netanyahu's comment followed Israel's revocation of the visas of Australian diplomats to the Palestinian Authority on Monday, after a decision by Canberra to recognise a Palestinian state and cancel the visa of an Israeli lawmaker.
