The Foreign Ministry said there were no reports that Jakarta’s deliberations on the United States’ overflight proposal have affected the talks for two Indonesian tankers stuck in the Strait of Hormuz.

A Pakistani delegation arrived in Tehran bearing a new message from Washington after US President Donald Trump indicated negotiations could resume this week following last weekend's failed talks in Islamabad.

The Chinese-owned tanker was among at least eight ships crossing the waterway on Tuesday, the first day of the US blockade.

Canada, the UK, Australia, Japan and six other countries condemned the killings of UN peacekeepers in Lebanon on Tuesday while calling "for an urgent end to hostilities" in the country where Israeli attacks have killed over 2,000 people since March.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio hosted the first direct talks between Israel and Lebanon in decades on Tuesday and both sides said they held positive discussions although it was not immediately clear if they agreed to a framework for peace.

The parallel diplomatic openings came even as violence persisted, underscoring both the fragility of the process and Washington's push to stabilize a region shaken by the over-six-week war.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said that an Israeli tank rammed peacekeeping vehicles on Sunday in the country's south where Israel and Hezbollah have been at war since last month.

President Donald Trump said the United States Navy would start blockading the Strait of Hormuz, raising the stakes after marathon talks with Iran failed to reach a deal to end the war, jeopardizing a fragile two-week ceasefire.

"The Iranian delegation negotiated continuously and intensively for 21 hours in order to protect the national interests of the Iranian people; despite various initiatives from the Iranian delegation, the unreasonable demands of the American side prevented the progress of the negotiations. Thus the negotiations ended," IRIB said on Telegram.

Vance boarded Air Force Two at 7:08 am (0208 GMT) and waved to Pakistani officials from the top of the stairs.

The talks in Islamabad were the first direct US-Iranian meeting in more than a decade and the highest-level discussions since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

For the US-Iran talks, Islamabad, a city of more than 2 million people, was locked down with thousands of paramilitary personnel and army troops on the streets.

Out of ten countries who pledged funds, only three had contributed funding, namely the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and the United States itself, according to sources.

Israel 'agreed to begin formal peace negotiations' with the Lebanese government, with which it has no diplomatic relations, said Israeli ambassador Yechiel Leiter.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, whose country host the negotiation, said making progress at the Islamabad talks would be hard work.

Indonesia has rallied more than 70 countries to condemn “in the strongest terms” the attacks on United Nations peacekeepers in Lebanon, calling for urgent UN investigation and accountability following deadly incidents that killed Indonesian personnel.

United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri hopes the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran brings ‘a long lasting’ peace in the region.

While Iran agreed to reopen the thoroughfare during the two-week truce with the United States, it has also spoken of a toll system to fund reconstruction following punishing US-Israeli attacks.

In the joint statement, the countries urged the UN Security Council to conduct a thorough investigation into the incidents in Southern Lebanon that killed three Indonesian peacekeepers and wounded several others, including from France, Ghana, Nepal, and Poland.

The Indonesian Embassy in Tehran is preparing plans to repatriate more Indonesian citizens from Iran, including 35 crew members aboard vessels off the Iranian coast.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the United States and Iran -- and their allies had -- agreed to a ceasefire "everywhere" following mediation by his government.

The strikes raised questions about regional truce efforts, with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian saying a ceasefire inLebanon was an essential condition of his country's agreement with the US.

"Let me be clear: We still have objectives to complete, and we will achieve them -- either through agreement or through renewed fighting," Netanyahu said in a televised statement.

Iran announced alternative routes on Thursday for ships traveling through the Strait of Hormuz, citing the risk of sea mines in the main zone of the vital waterway.

United States-Iran ceasefire fractures emerged quickly as Israel carried out its heaviest strikes on its neighbor -- including in densely packed central Beirut -- since the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah joined the war in early March.

The government has called for a thorough investigation into two incidents in Lebanon that left three Indonesian peacekeepers dead, following the release of preliminary findings from a United Nations probe that highlighted the probable roles of Israel and Hezbollah in the deadly events.

Tehran has agreed to temporarily reopen the Strait of Hormuz, through which much of the world's oil, gas and fertilizer passes, easing concerns for the battered global economy.

The United States and Iran have agreed to a two-week ceasefire, reaching a deal less than two hours before President Donald Trump's deadline for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face the wiping out of "a whole civilization". 

"I... extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both the countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes," he said in a post on X.
