wo airports managed by state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I) have received international awards based on a survey conducted by Airport Council International (ACI), a well-known Canada-based airport organization.
I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali was awarded World’s Third-Best Airport 2016 among airports serving 15 to 25 million passengers per year, while Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar was awarded Most Improved Airport in Asia-Pacific 2016.
The achievements of the two airports were based on an Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, AP I president director Danang S. Baskoro said in a statement, adding that ASQ was the only global benchmarking program that measured passengers’ satisfaction regarding airports.

In January, Juanda International Airport in Surabaya was also awarded as World’s Most Punctual Large Airport in 2016 by OAG, an England-based air travel intelligence company.
“This acknowledgment is real proof of our continuous hard work to always improve our services for customers,” he said on Sunday as reported by tempo.co.
For Ngurah Rai airport, it was a repeat of its achievement in 2015, while for Sultan Hasanuddin Airport, it was its first international award.
ACI World general director Angela Gittens said the airports were dedicated to quality service and giving customers the best experience.
“The airports also create a continuous service culture as the most important factor in competitive advantage and have optimized their performance to increase non-aeronautic revenue,” she said. (ecn/bbn)
