Graft suspect and House of Representatives Speaker Setya Novanto has been transported to a hospital after being involved in a car accident in Permata Hijau, South Jakarta, on Thursday afternoon, his lawyer said.

raft suspect and House of Representatives Speaker Setya Novanto, who went missing after the nation’s antigraft body issued a warrant to arrest him on Wednesday night, has been transported to a hospital after being involved in a car accident in Permata Hijau, South Jakarta, on Thursday afternoon, his lawyer said.
“I'm here to inform you that [Setya] was involved in a very bad accident," Fredrich Yunadi, one of Setya’s lawyers, said at Medika Hospital in Permata Hijau, where Setya is being treated.
Setya was reportedly on his way to attend an interview with MetroTV when the accident took place. The car was traveling at a high speed, Fredrich said.
Read also: House's ethics council considers suspending SetyaThe Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has issued an arrest warrant for Setya, who had repeatedly dodged summonses for questioning.
The KPK went to Setya’s home in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Wednesday night to arrest him, but they were met by only his wife and lawyer.

Setya’s whereabouts were unknown before the news broke out that he was involved in an accident on Thursday afternoon. (ahw)
