he Tourism Ministry held the Indonesia Golf Sales Mission in Japan 2017 in Katori city, northern Chiba Prefecture, Japan, on Thursday.

The event was officiated by the Minister Counsellor of the Indonesian Embassy in Japan, Eko Junor, and attended by the representatives of four sellers: general manager of Finna Golf and Country Club Resort Rina Maharani; PT. Mandiri Tiga Saudara representative Steve Bligh; managing director of Multi Holiday Rudy Techrisna; and marketing director of PT. Visi Prima Golf  Merry Kwan.

“I’ve had the opportunity to golf in Indonesia. The location was beautiful. Everything was provided and sightseeing was also available during the visit,” said Travel Counselors senior director at the Morikawa Japan Travel Consultant Office, Yosua Morikawa, at the event.

Kazuo Ito, Travel I Route Service president, echoed the statement: “I’m excited to bring golf lovers in Japan to Indonesia after seeing these promotions."

“It’s the right move from Indonesia’s Tourism Ministry. After this event, more travel [agents] will know about the quality of Indonesia's [golf tourism],” added Partner Travel Japan president Yasushi Hiranoi.

The ministry's deputy assistant for Asia Pacific Tourism Promotion, Vinsensius Jemadu, said that Indonesia has 150 golf courses, 114 of which are international-standard courses.

“Please come to Indonesia; we have hundreds of world-class golf courses in Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Batam, Bintan, Serpong and Bogor,” said the ministry's deputy for overseas promotion I Gde Pitana. (kes)
