o help raise awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), youths under leadership organization AIESEC in Indonesia will conduct a campaign walk on Sept. 25.
Dubbed Walk for SDGs, the campaign will be conducted in 11 cities nationwide, namely Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Padang, Makassar, Lampung, Palembang, Bogor, Malang and Surakarta. In the capital city, it is slated to take place in Senayan, South Jakarta during the car-free hours of 7 to 10 a.m. on Sunday.
“As a developing country, Indonesia has big relevancy with the goals. So it's time for us, the youth, to speak up for SDGs and act together alongside the public and private sectors,” the organizer said in an official statement.

Around 1,000 people are set to participate in the event, consisting of AIESEC members from various universities such as the University of Indonesia, Prasetiya Mulya Business School, Bina Nusantara University, Bandung Institute of Technology and Gajah Mada University. Among the agenda items are a SDGs campaign, fun walk and opening of a SDGs information booth.
The campaign is part of a movement called Youth for Global Goals (Y4GG) initiated by AIESEC and the UN last year, which aims to raise awareness about SDGs through the voice of youths. (kes)
