resident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has emphasized the importance of expanding Indonesian investment and trade to non-traditional trading partners such as in Africa.

In his address at the opening of the 2018 Trade Expo Indonesia recently, the President hailed the success of Dexa Medica, a local pharmaceutical company that exports medicine to Nigeria.

Maintaining business deals with Africa is not a novel idea at all. But is it possible for Indonesian investors to expand their business to Africa? 

Going back to April this year, the Indonesia Africa Forum was held in Bali. Two main key points that could be accounted for are the facilitation of a financing mechanism for trade and investment in Africa and to establish better economic diplomacy.
