Google Asia Pacific announces a new partnership with Alpha JWC Ventures in cloud adoption for start-ups, which also include trainings and workshops pertaining to Google’s platforms and technologies.
oogle Asia Pacific (APAC) has announced a new partnership with Indonesian early-to-growth stage venture capital (VC) firm Alpha JWC Ventures in cloud adoption for start-ups, which also includes training and workshops pertaining to Google’s platforms and technologies.
The global tech giant is looking to push the adoption of its cloud products and technology through this deal by including a discount package of cloud credits for start-ups under Alpha JWC.
“To support the partnership and help startups in their early stages, the Google for Startups Cloud Program offers technical, business and financial support, including up to US$200,000 of Cloud credits over 2 years for start-ups that have received funding up to and including Series A,” said Google Southeast Asia’s (SEA) VC and start-up partnerships head Kiran Bapna and Google Cloud’s VC and start-up ecosystem Japan and Asia Pacific (JAPAC) head Michael Langford in a joint statement.
The VC firm elaborated in a press statement released on Friday that this partnership with Google was an elongation of its initiative called Alpha-X, a program that not only covers funding, but also includes training for best practices in the scope of marketing, human resource development and communication.
“Founders face immense challenges running their start-ups, and funding itself is not enough to help them succeed or navigate the ups and downs in their journeys. We strongly believe that we need to do more than capital injection,” said Alpha JWC Ventures value creation partner Erika Go.
“Henceforth, [we] have launched the Alpha-X initiative and tapped into our vast network of partners to work with us to enable our portfolio founders and their teams in critical areas where they would need the most support. We will continue to onboard more partners in the coming months to complement other areas of knowledge and skillsets that would greatly benefit our founders,” she added.
In addition to Google APAC, Alpha JWC has also involved The Hoffman Agency and Hepmil Creators’ Network in this partnership to provide consultancy from experts in the fields of marketing, branding, technology, digital and content creation, which the Southeast Asian VC said would help Alpha JWCs portfolio founders develop their brand stories as well as raising awareness and reach.
“We are excited to partner with Alpha JWC Ventures in bringing our marketing solutions to help portfolio companies maximize their brand and reach among the Gen Z and Millennials. We are especially excited for the cocreation of innovative campaigns that will unlock tremendous opportunities for value creation,” said Hepmil Media Group CEO Karl Mak.
“Our roots are in the Silicon Valley, so building brand equity for tech and start-ups is something we specialize in. With the level of innovation, energy and optimism that I'm seeing on the ground in Indonesia, I'm excited about the stories we can help to unearth that will move the needle and solve business problems," added The Hoffman Agency Singapore and Indonesia general manager Maureen Tseng.
