aving helped beneficiaries through the economically devastating COVID-19 pandemic, the preemployment card program will remain in place and continue to be developed further despite next year’s presidential elections, the government insists.

"The preemployment card program will continue," Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto said on Friday during a discussion with alumni of the program, as quoted by Bisnis.com.

Seeing that the program has helped beneficiaries get jobs or start their own business, the government targets 1 million preemployment card beneficiaries with a total budget of Rp 4.37 trillion (US$294.4 million) for the 2023 program.

The number of beneficiaries and budget funds provided for the program in 2024 would be the same as this year, he explained, without sharing any details of the plan.
