"The preemployment card program will continue," Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto said on Friday during a discussion with alumni of the program, as quoted by Bisnis.com.
Seeing that the program has helped beneficiaries get jobs or start their own business, the government targets 1 million preemployment card beneficiaries with a total budget of Rp 4.37 trillion (US$294.4 million) for the 2023 program.
The number of beneficiaries and budget funds provided for the program in 2024 would be the same as this year, he explained, without sharing any details of the plan.

For 2023, the government has allocated around Rp 4.4 trillion for 1 million recipients in the preemployment card program. From 2020 through June 2023, the number of recipients has surpassed 17 million.
The program has been implemented in 498 of 514 regencies and cities, with West Java being home to the most beneficiaries.
