IDX Composite ends gaining streak, closing 0.51% lower

The IDX Composite ended Monday's trading at 6,843.79 points, down 0.51%. Among the listed stocks, 193 rose, 340 fell, and 226 remained stable.

he Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Composite concluded Tuesday's trading session on a slightly bearish note, closing down 0.51 percent at 6,843.79.

With the loss, the Composite index ended its recent gaining streak.

During the trading session, 193 stocks rose, 340 stocks declined, and 226 stocks remained stable.

The total trading volume amounted to 26 billion shares, valued at Rp 29.62 trillion (US$1.897 billion), across 1.14 million transactions.

The trading session witnessed eight sectoral indexes following the downtrend of the IDX Composite, while three other sectors managed to hold ground.

The sectoral indices facing the steepest declines were the non-primary consumer goods sector, dropping by 1.73 percent, followed by the energy sector, which decreased by 1.35 percent. The raw goods sector was also down 0.94 percent.

In contrast, sectors that defied the trend were the infrastructure sector, showing an increase of 0.40 percent, the property sector, rising by 0.38 percent, and the primary consumer goods sector, gaining 0.28 percent.
