The IHSG continues its rally for the third consecutive day, rising past the 6,900 band on Wednesday.
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Composite (IHSG) closed in the green again on Wednesday, up 1.40 percent and closing at 6,958.20.
Today’s gain for the IHSG marks the third consecutive closing rally for the composite index.
The exchange saw a total of 20.8 billion shares in transaction volume today, amounting to Rp 11 trillion (US$710 million), with 319 stocks gaining, 207 declining and 227 remaining stagnant.
As of Wednesday, the IHSG had recorded a 2.26 percent gain over the past week and a 1.57 percent increase since the beginning of the year. The IHSG’s rally was supported by gains in 10 sectors throughout today’s trading.
Almost all sectors on the exchange ended higher on Wednesday, with infrastructure sector recording the highest gain at 3.60 percent. The technology sector came in second with 2.47 percent), followed by the property and real estate sector (2.17 percent), the financial sector (1.59 percent), the non-primary consumer goods sector (1.55 percent), the raw material sector (0.42 percent), the industry sector (0.35 percent), the transportation and logistics sector (0.22 percent), the energy sector (0.18 percent) and the primary consumer goods sector (0.06 percent).
Only the healthcare sector saw a correction, with a 0.49 percent decline.
The LQ45 index also gained today, closing at 920.12, or a 1.79 percent up.
