Kadin urges stability after Constitutional Court ruling

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has expressed respect for the Constitutional Court decision and called on all sides to focus on political stability for the sake of economic growth.

he Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has expressed gratitude for the Constitutional Court decision and called on all sides to focus on political stability for the sake of economic growth.

In a press release issued on Monday, the business association further stated that the decisions by the Constitutional Court and the General Elections Commission (KPU) instilled business confidence, which is critical to the country's economic progress.

“The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry believes that the official decisions by the KPU and Constitutional Court that have been announced will provide certainty for the business sector that will have an impact on economic growth,” the statement said. 

“The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry respects the decisions by the Constitutional Court, which rejected the requests from presidential and vice presidential candidates No. 1 and No. 3, [and] also respects KPU Decision No. 360 of 2024 which declared the victory of presidential and vice presidential candidates [on ballot] No. 2 in the 2024 presidential election,” the statement reads.

The business group added that it invited all parties to respect the decisions to support political stability, which it said was essential for economic growth and industry dynamics.
