Indosat Unveils Indonesia’s first AI Experience Center in Surakarta

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH) has launched the first AI Experience Center in Indonesia.
Located at Solo Technopark in Surakarta, Central Java, the AI Experience Center is the first-hand experience of the AI Center of Excellence that will be built in the same complex later this year.
Along with serving as a showcase exhibition room, the AI Experience Center will also become an AI training center for Indonesian talent, with Indosat and its partners providing a variety of courses ranging from basic AI training to experimental AI LAB.
The AI Experience Center is expected to aid Indonesians in mastering AI. The training program, which will regularly feature global AI experts as speakers, can be attended by various groups including students, civil servants and the general public who want to learn about the benefits of AI.
The symbolic launch of the AI Experience Center was carried out by Indosat’s President Director and CEO Vikram Sinha, Surakarta Mayor Teguh Prakosa, expert staffer at the Ministry of Communications and Informatics of the Republic of Infonesia for social, economic, and culture affairs Wijaya Kusumawardhana and KGPAA Mangkunegoro X.
Following the ceremony, Vikram said the AI Experience Center was an important milestone in Indosat's journey to empower Indonesia through AI technology.
"This emphasizes our commitment to transforming Indonesia's digital and telecommunications landscape. We greatly appreciate the support from the Indonesian government, including the Surakarta administration and strategic partners who share this vision," he said, adding that the AI Experience Center was the beginning of various developments in an effort to open up opportunities for millions of Indonesians.
Partnering with global technology companies such as Huawei, the AI Experience Center showcases the latest AI technology that can be applied in various sectors, ranging from smart city management that optimizes Indosat's 5G network, the arts, food and beverage industry, as well as the creative industry.
Teguh expressed his honor that the city was chosen by Indosat as the location of the first AI Experience Center in Indonesia.
"This facility will not only enhance the excellence of Solo Technopark, but will also provide a double effect for the local economy and digitalization. This in turn will benefit education, tourism and job creation," said Teguh.
During the occasion Wijaya said that Indosat was a pioneer in presenting the first AI Experience Center in Indonesia.
Wijaya noted that the AI Experience Center is an important opportunity for the evolution of the telecommunications industry, especially AI technology that will continue to develop.
"We believe that this experience center will become a catalyst for innovation in various sectors, and we fully support its success," he said.
Inside the AI Experience Center, visitors will be able to partake in AI-enhanced experiences and technologies, including smart city management, magic canvas, smart meeting and education areas, guide robots, AI photobooths and a Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) laboratory.
The smart city management system, which is connected to Indosat’s 5G network, contains a variety of information, data and telecommunications technology that are integrated with one another.
Through the system, users can perform video analytics and integrated reporting with CCTV as well as analyze reports from regional government work units to monitor city conditions in real-time.
The magic canvas allows visitors to create works of art resembling those done by professionals, with the AI turning scribbles and doodles into artworks and paintings.
