ocal private fuel retailer PT Vivo Energy Indonesia has secured a base fuel supply from state-owned Pertamina after weeks of negotiations, ending months of dry pumps and empty tanks.

The firm procured 100,000 barrels of imported RON-92 base fuel through a business-to-business (B2B) agreement with Pertamina’s commercial arm, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga.

Pertamina Patra Niaga corporate secretary Roberth Dumatubun said the base fuel met all quality and specification requirements in line with government directives.

“Vivo has been allotted 100,000 barrels of fuel for its gas stations. This followed an initial distribution of 100,000 barrels to PT APR [BP-AKR],” he said in a statement issued on Monday. Roberth was referring to PT Aneka Petroindo Raya, a joint venture between London-based oil and gas company BP and local firm PT AKR Corporindo.

He added that the partnership underscored Pertamina’s commitment to upholding transparency and good corporate governance, while ensuring stable fuel distribution for the public.

“Providing energy for the community is our top priority, as it drives public productivity. We are committed to ensuring a safe, high-quality and accessible fuel supply for the sake of national energy security.”
