Krista Exhibition holds three-day event catered to food and beverage industry players

alling all foodies! SIAL InterFood 24, the biggest food and beverages expo in Indonesia, officially opened on Wednesday. The three-day event is held in conjunction with Seafood Show Asia Expo 2023 and INAShop Expo 2023 at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran.

Organized by Kristamedia, the event draws participation from all over the world. With a total of 895 companies, the event features 100 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and international brands from over 20 countries.

“SIAL InterFood 2023 annual exhibition is held again and has a 20 percent increase in participants compared with 2022. Aside from this, there are about 100 MSME business actors participating in this exhibition that can expand their network and grow their business in order to go international,” said Daud S. Salim, CEO of Krista Exhibition. “This exhibition also provides a platform to connect exhibition participants and visitors, complemented with a business matching session so that food and beverages industry players can connect with each other and capture new potential to develop their business.”

His enthusiasm was echoed by general chair of the Indonesian Food and Beverage Producers Association (GAPMMI), Adhi S. Lukman, who delivered his remarks at the opening ceremony as well. He voiced his unwavering support of Krista Exhibitions in initiating the SIAL Interfood 2023 Exhibition.

"In 2023, GAPMMI will include 17 fostered IKMs [assisted small and medium business actors] as a form of support for the national programs Indonesia Spice Up the World and Proudly Made in Indonesia, where in these two national programs, GAPMMI is one of the coordinators. It is hoped that through this exhibition, the GAPMMI-IKM can get many potential buyers and of course can gain positive benefits for the progress of their business," said Adhi.

Collaborating with stakeholders and experts in the field, the exhibition is hosting programs that will elevate innovations in the industry. For one, SIAL Innovation is an event program that gives the highest awards to participants for the best innovation for products food and beverage and supporting industries, such as packaging and processing.

The winning products will be displayed in all SIAL exhibition networks, such as in France, China, Canada, India, China and the Middle East. The visitors were also treated to a cooking competition organized by the Association of Culinary Professionals (ACP), attended by more than 600 participants titled La Cuisine 2023.

Another was organized by the Indonesia Coffee Art Battle (ICAB) and the SIAL Interfood Roasting Competition (SIROC), which invited industry players to brew homeland coffee in programs such as Esperto Barista Workshop, La Cuisine Pastrie, Gelato Workshop by Espresso Italy, the GAPMMI Seminar, and seminars from IPF, LPPOM MUI, KAN.

The SIAL InterFood 2023 exhibition aims to revive the potential of the Indonesian food and beverage industry, and it is hoped that the event is the right one to promote Indonesian food and drinks, which have the potential to be known to foreign markets.

“The selection of Indonesia as one of the SIAL InterFood host countries is recognition of our country’s potential in the food and beverage product industry on the global stage. Apart from Jakarta, similar exhibitions are held in several business cities in the world,” added Didi Sumedi, director general of Export Development at the Trade Ministry

The exhibition will also be a platform to showcase many varieties of products such as processed foods made from milk and cheese, meat and processed meats, fish, seafood, fruit, vegetables, tea, sugar, chocolate, fitness and health foods and drinks, frozen foods, ice cream, gelato, pizza, organic food, canned ready-to-eat food, bakery ingredients, to food and alcoholic drinks. Furthermore, visitors can also find a number of tools to support culinary businesses, such as baking machines and packaging.

The SIAL Interfood 2023 exhibition will be open from Wednesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. WIB and is open to the public. Every visitor who wants to enter the exhibition arena will need to pay a registration fee of Rp 150,000 (US$9.56). With this pass, visitors will get access for four days in all SIAL Interfood 2023 exhibition halls.
