T Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) has once again received global recognition. Alongside Maybank Indonesia, PNM was awarded for being the best Islamic local-currency deal in Indonesia, in Euromoney’s Islamic Finance Awards 2024.
PNM's Director of Operations, Digital and Information Technology Sunar Basuki attended the award ceremony held at the Waldorf Astoria in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. He stated that PNM and Maybank Indonesia received the award for achieving 1 trillion rupiah (US$62.26 million) in Sharia financing.
“We are very grateful for the excellent cooperation between PNM and Maybank Indonesia throughout 2023, optimizing Sharia-based financing for Mekaar customers, which has been internationally recognized. This motivates us to continue contributing to Sharia financing in Indonesia,” Sunar said on Wednesday in Dubai.
According to Sunar, as a country with a majority Muslim population, the potential for Sharia financing in Indonesia is enormous. He also expressed his gratitude to everyone who has supported PNM to date. "Especially to PNM Mekaar customers. All these achievements are because of their perseverance in developing their businesses," he added.
As a non-bank financial institution, PNM not only focuses on providing financing, but also on empowering ultra-micro and micro businesses. This continuous financing and mentoring sets PNM apart from other financial institutions.
