The award, presented by Indonesia's Defense Ministry through the Directorate General of Defense Potential, commemorated the 76th National Patriotism Day.
Ani shared how her tangible contributions have positively impacted her community. Her submission, a video showcasing her entrepreneurial journey in producing palm sugar, highlighted her commitment to inspiring those around her. Since joining PNM Mekaar and securing funding, Ani's business has flourished.
She was commended for her ability to embody patriotic action in a creative, innovative and sustainable manner that benefits her community.
"My way of showing patriotism is by inspiring others to love and support local products, like palm sugar," Ani said.
Ani’s production process involves local housewives in her neighborhood, teaching them patiently how to create the products. This effort not only empowers the community, but also preserves Indonesia's traditional palm sugar craftsmanship.
"This award motivates me to continue my patriotic actions and contribute more to the advancement of Indonesia's micro, small and medium enterprises [MSMEs]," she added.
The award recognizes citizens who demonstrate patriotism through tangible contributions, as outlined in a directive from the Directorate General of Defense Potential of the Defense Ministry. The award categories included education, community and workplace initiatives.
Ani exemplifies how patriotism goes beyond military service, showcasing its embodiment through education, community empowerment and cultural preservation.
