At the entrance to the family house in Pudakpayung, Semarang, Central Java, a sign reads “Apologies, media (crew) is not allowed entry. Thank you. The family is mourning.”
Nani Muldiani, Novita’s mother, told reporters at the house on Monday, that she was very close to her daughter.
“I share my problems with her. Whatever I need, she always provides,” Nani said in sentences halted by sobbing.
“We are asking for her body to be buried in Semarang. Please pray for us [for a smooth] process,” she said.
The police in Texas said on Tuesday that the 25-year-old Indonesian woman who was killed in a San Antonio Airbnb, hit by about 100 rounds in a drive-by shooting, was mistakenly targeted.
Nani said she first received the news from Novita’s husband Robert Brazil Jr. She said Novita had been in Texas for about a year after moving from Germany.
