The immigration office has said that a number of individuals and groups are suspected to have planned a disruption to the Group of 20 Summit and its series of meetings in Bali.
Acting Director General of Immigration Widodo Ekatjahjana said on Sunday that his office has received information from other state institutions.
“[We have] received data from the relevant ministries/institutions regarding the existence of individuals and groups of foreigners who should be suspected of violating the immigration law, breaking the applicable laws and interfering with the G20 Summit,” Widodo said in a statement published on the official website.
He said the immigration authorities will take strict action according to the existing laws and regulations against such groups.
The office will continue to coordinate with ministries and institutions, while opening channels to receive reports from the public.
“The immigration [office] also will provide a quick response toward deterrence requests for individuals and the group of foreigners who will enter Indonesia,” the statement reads.
The immigration office reported it has deported a Japanese national in East Java after displaying a protest banner in Banyuwangi on Nov. 7.
