Susi said during the meeting she discussed a number of issues, from efforts to defend Indonesia's maritime boundaries to what is the best steak in Jakarta.
efense Minister Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday held talks with former maritime affairs and fisheries minister Susi Pudjiastuti, an encounter that the latter described as nostalgic.
Susi said during the meeting she discussed a number of issues, from efforts to defend Indonesia's maritime boundaries to what is the best steak in Jakarta.
"It's been a long time. It used to be that Pak Prabowo would come over to my house to have steak. He told me that it was the best steak in town," Susi said in a post on Instagram on Wednesday.
Susi also added that Prabowo told her that the country's territorial integrity remained at the top of his agenda and that he would pursue a number of policies from the past, including the sinking of foreign vessels entering Indonesia's territorial waters.
"This is a message from him: Those who attempt to violate our sovereignty, we must sink them to the bottom of the ocean," Susi said.
Early in the administration of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, Susi was responsible for the policy on the cracking down on illegal fishing by foreign boats.
Sinking illegal fishing vessels became a cornerstone of Susi’s maritime affairs policy. Under this policy, the government has sunk more than 380 vessels since 2015.
