resident Joko "Jokowi" Widodo arrived on Friday in Lampung for a short visit to check infrastructure in Sumatra's southernmost province, which grabbed national headlines after a viral video that criticized the inaction of local officials regarding damaged roads.
"This morning, I arrived at Radin Inten II [airport] for a work visit in Lampung, together with the public works and housing minister, the state-owned enterprises minister and the trade minister," Jokowi tweeted on his official account Joko Widodo (@jokowi).

The poor roads in Lampung became a nationwide topic following a viral TikTok video created by Sydney-based student Bima Yudho Saputro, who comes from the province.
Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi had earlier shrugged off the criticism and launched a personal attack on Bimo and his family.
But a number of senior officials, including Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Mahfud M.D., came to Bimo's defense, saying he had a right to criticize the local administration.
