orruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators apprehended 10 people in a raid on Tuesday as part of an investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds in the procurement of state search and rescue equipment.
Officials from the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) and figures from the private sector were, the antigraft body claimed, caught in the act of giving and receiving bribes in two different locations, Cilangkap in East Jakarta and Jakasampurna in Bekasi, West Java.

“We confiscated some money as evidence. Currently we are still questioning the people detained to check whether the money is linked to alleged corruption,” KPK spokesperson Ali Fikri told reporters on Wednesday.
Among the ten people arrested are a middle-ranking officer assigned to Basarnas and several people from private companies. They were being questioned at the KPK headquarters in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon.
Ali declined to disclose the specific identities of the people arrested and their alleged roles in the case but said investigators were expecting to wrap up questioning soon and determine the status of the detainees.
He said investigators were building a case regarding the alleged misappropriation of funds in the procurement of underground detection equipment used in search and rescue operations.
