Indonesia Decides

The Anies-Muhaimin (AMIN) campaign team launched its One Mother, A Dozen Votes program on Friday to win over at least 50 percent of Indonesia's women voters in the 2024 presidential election.

AMIN’s national campaign team deputy head for family Kurniasih said the campaign program would be launched on Friday simultaneously across Indonesia with the team conducting multiple activities for its launch.

The program aims to empower women, especially mothers, to voice their issues and concerns and to build their support for Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar in the election. The program is based on Anies and Muhaimin’s vision and mission to improve the welfare and rights of women and children in Indonesia.

“Insya Allah [God willing], AMIN is the presidential-vice presidential pair that truly elevates these issues,” Kurniasih said when meeting Anies’ wife, Fery Farhati, on Thursday, as quoted by Antara News.

“We believe that family issues deserve our utmost attention. [Because] everything starts within the family unit.”

Kurniasih also said that based on her team’s calculations, half of eligible voters were women, most of whom were mothers.

Fery voiced support for the woman-focused program. She hoped it would be a starting point for change in Indonesia.
