Central Jakarta Bawaslu will summon vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka regarding milk distribution during Car Free Day at the end of the year.
The Central Jakarta Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) is ready to summon vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka for an alleged campaign violation by distributing milk during Car Free Day (CFD) in Jakarta.
"We will summon all those involved, probably at the end of the year, maybe Dec. 28 or 29," Central Jakarta Bawaslu commissioner Christian Nelson “Sonny” Pangkey told reporters on Thursday, as quoted by Antara.
He said Bawaslu would summon all involved parties in the activity, including National Mandate Party (PAN) member Eko Patrio, who could not attend a summons on Thursday.
So far, the Central Jakarta Bawaslu has only examined PAN central board chairperson Zita Anjani and PAN members, who are also celebrities, Sigit Purnomo (Pasha Ungu) and Surya Utama (Uya Kuya).
"We are currently following up on reports or findings. We will have a clarification step to shed light on the existing findings to gain important details," said Sonny as quoted by kompas.com.
Jakarta Gubernatorial Regulation No.12/2016 on the CFD prohibits political attributes or activities in CFD areas.
The probe is expected to be completed in early January, but the date has yet to be confirmed.
