Jazilul Fawaid, assistant coach of the Anies-Muhaimin national team, voices concern about inconsistent technicalities, including the stage, the use of microphones and movements on stage in election debates.
Jazilul Fawaid, the assistant coach of the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) national team, has voiced concerns regarding the inconsistent technical aspects of the presidential and vice presidential candidates' debates organized by the General Elections Commission (KPU).
He pointed out that the first debate stage lacked podiums and the venue was very hot. Concerning the use of microphones, the first debate only had one, but the organizer later provided three.
"In the second debate, people were allowed to move around [on stage] like dancing. So, which one did KPU actually decide on?" Fawaid said, on Monday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Jazilul also addressed the upcoming TV pool for the third presidential debate hosted by the MNC Group, owned by Perindo Party chairman Hary Tanoesoedibjo.
Jazilul said he was not too concerned about Hary’s support for rival pair Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.
"The important thing is that it is decided together by the KPU and all teams. Now, if for example, it has to be evaluated, I think it's not the TV channel, but the system so that the debate is more exciting," he said.
Previously, Iwan Tarigan, the spokesperson for the AMIN campaign team, proposed solutions to the KPU to prevent any controversies arising from the MNC Group's selection as the debate organizer. One of the suggestions was to include additional media entities in the planning and execution of the third debate.
