Presidential candidate Anies Baswedan vows to end bad governance and illegal levies in the national economy. He also plans to form a healthy cabinet based on competence, relevance and integrity.
Presidential candidate Anies Baswedan has vowed to eradicate bad governance and illegal levies in the national economy, which he said were prone to occur under the current system and required reform to prevent.
"There are some things that need to be fixed, especially at the systematic level. There are actually types of illegal levies that run systematically, so we need to reform the system," Anies said on Thursday as quoted by Antara news agency.
Anies said the second aspect needing improvement in the future was the "actor", or the person who collected illegal levies in the government.
He added that the government needed the help of businesses to eradicate the practice of illegal levies, as they were aware of the extent and impact of the bad practice.
“We’re committed to eradicating the various kinds of bad governance practices, including illegal levies so that the business world can grow and develop healthily," he emphasized.
The former Jakarta governor committed to maximizing the merit system in policies and management of the state civil apparatus (ASN) based on qualifications, competence and performance, fairly and without discriminating against any background.
This was also related to his vision of forming a healthy cabinet for the national economy.
