PSI chairman Kaesang Pangarep holds a campaign session in Surakarta and asks attendees to vote for presidential candidate pair Prabowo-Gibran and introduces legislative candidates from his party.
Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) chairman Kaesang Pangarep urged thousands of attendees of an open rally in Surakarta, Central Java, on Monday to vote for the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming ticket in the upcoming presidential election during .
"What's important is that on Feb. 14, go to the polling stations, choose the PSI and Gibran," said Kaesang, as quoted by Antara news agency.
"Promise me, vote for the PSI and Gibran Rakabuming Raka."
Aside from promoting his older brother Gibran, who is running for vice president, Kaesang also introduced legislative candidates from the PSI for the House of Representatives, Central Java Legislative Council, and Surakarta City Council.
Kaesang expressed the hope that Surakarta residents would come to know and vote for PSI legislative candidates.
Both Gibran and Kaesang are the sons of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.
Meanwhile, PSI secretary-general Raja Juli Antoni said the PSI picked Surakarta as the location for the party’s open rally because it coincided with Prabowo-Gibran's schedule to campaign in Central Java.
