Presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo and his running mate Mahfud MD held multiple separate rallies on Sunday in North Sumatra.
At Ganjar’s rally in Belawan district, Medan, he heard from local fishermen about the difficulty of finding sufficient subsidized fuel and the burden of high ship ownership transfer fees.
The fishermen also lamented that government aid was, in some cases, not being delivered to the people it was intended for.
"Not all assistance has been properly targeted because the data was not correct. This is what we will fix through KTP Sakti [invincible identification card],” said Ganjar, as quoted by viva.co.id, a news portal. “Just one ID card for all necessary identification, so all these situations will use only one card."
Under the proposed KTP Sakti program, a state ID card would be sufficient to access all social services and benefits a citizen is eligible for. Currently, different state programs require different cards, including the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP), the Farmers’ Card (Kartu Tani) and the Indonesia Health Card (KIS).
Ganjar held another rally at Astaka Pancing Field in the nearby Deli Serdang regency, where he promised to resolve various issues if elected.
Mahfud, who joined Ganjar at Astaka Pancing Field, expressed his gratitude to the chair of the regional Ganjar-Mahfud campaign team, Paul Baja M. Siahaan.
