Anies Baswedan visited Surya Paloh at the NasDem Tower in Manado before heading to Kotamobagu for his campaign.
Presidential candidate Anies Baswedan had a meeting on Monday morning with NasDem Party chairman Surya Paloh, at the NasDem Tower in Manado before continuing his campaign in Kotamobagu city, North Sulawesi.
When asked if they discussed the possibility of forming an electoral alliance in a possible runoff vote with Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD, Anies simply shook his head.
“We were talking about the delicious breakfast,” Anies said, as quoted by detik.com news portal.
Meanwhile, Surya expressed his satisfaction with Anies’ performance during the fifth round of the presidential debate on Sunday.
"There were two campaign events today, but considering the limited time, we can only campaign once in the Bolaang Mongondow region and quickly return to Central Java," said Surya Paloh, as quoted by Antara news agency.
Earlier, upon his arrival in Manado, Anies admitted to being surprised by the enthusiasm of the people who had been waiting for him since early morning. He said this enthusiasm showcased the people’s sincere support for him.
"We arrived at Sam Ratulangi airport today at 3 a.m., very early in the morning, and I couldn't imagine that at 3 a.m. so many people would come to the airport to welcome us. I even said this is very touching," said Anies, as quoted by Antara.
