he North Sumatra Police have dishonorably discharged 15 police officers from the Medan City Police who were put on a viral wanted list for various infractions.
"These 15 individuals have been dishonorably discharged based on ethics hearings conducted by the Medan City Police," North Sumatra Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Hadi Wahyudi said in Medan on Wednesday, as quoted by Antara news agency.
Therefore, Hadi said, these people were no longer police officers after having been fired for various reasons such as absence from work for 50 to 60 days without having requested leave.
“For those involved in criminal actions, the trial will be held after the dishonorable discharge,” he said.
He added that her infractions were conducted in 2018-2020 and the dishonorable discharges were issued in 2022 and 2023.
Separately, North Sumatra Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Sonny W. Siregar said that the officers were put on the wanted list because they were involved in robberies.
Three of the 15 officers were arrested and dishonorably discharged for attempted extortion and theft. They were Second Brig. Haris K. Putra, Brig. Ari Galih Gumilang and Brig. Firman Bram Sidabutar.
