Three trees collapsed at popular tourism site Monkey Forest in Ubud, Gianyar regency, Bali, killing two foreign tourists and severely injuring another.

wo foreign nationals died in a tree collapse at the popular Monkey Forest tourist attraction in Ubud, Gianyar regency, Bali, on Tuesday.

Another visitor was severely injured in the incident, which occurred when the tourist attraction was packed with visitors.

Frenchwoman Funny Justine Christine, 32, and 42-year-old South Korean woman Kim Hyoeun died in the incident that happened at 12:25 p.m. local time.

The injured victim has been identified as Lee Sunni from South Korea.

Bali Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Jansen Avitus Panjaitan said the incident happened when the tourist attraction had many foreign tourists and during strong winds and heavy rain, which brought down trees near the Prajapati Temple.

Staff and visitors rushed to assist the victims.
