I Putu Sudayana, head of the Banjarmasin Search and Rescue Agency, said search efforts have been significantly hampered by the area’s rugged terrain and dense forest cover.
"The last known contact with the helicopter was approximately 4 kilometers from Mandin Damar Waterfall, in Tanah Bumbu Regency. The location is on the slopes of the Meratus Mountains, with thick vegetation and very limited ground access," he said on Monday.
Putu added that rescuers must travel approximately 71.5 km, or a 7-hour journey, from Batulicin District in Tanah Bumbu Regency to reach the area.
