rosecutors are seeking an 11-year prison sentence for Priguna Anugerah Pratama, a former anesthesiology resident at Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung, West Java, who is accused of raping two patients and a patient’s family member.
In addition to the prison term, prosecutors are requesting a fine of Rp 100 million (US$6,031.82) and Rp 137 million in restitution for the victims. The restitution will be divided among the three victims in varying amounts.
If the restitution is not paid, Priguna will face an additional six months in prison. Likewise, failure to pay the Rp 100 million fine would result in another six-month prison term.
Nur Sricahyawijaya, spokesperson of the West Java Prosecutors Office, accused Priguna of violating Article 6 of the 2022 Law on Sexual Violence, which carries a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison and a fine of up to Rp 300 million.
