North Sumatra Police chief spokesman Sr. Comr. Ferry Walintukan said the investigation processes were conducted separately to ensure they were being done in a professional and independent manner and free from conflicts of interest. He added that questioning sessions were conducted after both officers were relieved from their posts.

“The decision to relieve Propam chief Sr. Comr. Julihan Mustaha and Paminal chief Comr. Agustinus Chandra was a needed organizational step to allow an objective investigation,” Ferry told reporters at the North Sumatra Police headquarters in Medan on Tuesday.

North Sumatra Police chief Insp. Gen. Wishnu Hermawan Februanto relieved both officers after a series of posts on TikTok account @tan_jhonson88 went viral.
