roup calling is now available on Facebook Messenger in Android as well as iOS, allowing users to initiate a group VoIP audio call from any group conversation.
"Really excited to announce the global roll out of group calling in Messenger today. From any group conversation, just tap on the phone icon to initiate a group call. You can then manage individual participants on the next screen," posted Facebook Messaging Products head David Marcus on his personal account.
Those who have installed the latest version of Messenger should be able to see the phone icon appear in group conversations. Simply click it to contact a maximum of 49 people per call, according to TechCrunch.
Facebook has been offering VoIP feature since 2013, followed by one-on-one audio calls a year later. Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly stated last year that Messenger already made up 10 percent of all mobile VoIP calls globally.
