FC India has introduced Watt-a-Box, a meal box that comes with a built-in charger and cable for both iPhone and Android phones as a feature for their 5-in-1 Meal Box menu that features popular dishes.

Lluís Ruiz Ribot, chief marketing officer of KFC India told Times of India that Watt-a-Box was intended to introduce an element of utility of the box, answering the needs of people who spend much time on their phones causing high battery usage.

However, Watt-a-Box is produced in limited quantity and will not be sold in stores. KFC India held a competition on its Facebook page to select lucky winners for the 5-in-1 Meal Box menu, which will be served in the specially designed boxes, so they can use the charger while munching on the new 5 -in-1 KFC menu items.

Watt-a-Box is not the first tech innovation in the fast-food world. In 2015, Pizza Hut came up with a pizza box that could turn into a movie projector, and in May, McDonald's collaborated with Rovio and Sony to produce a 360-degree video to promote The Angry Birds movie. (asw)
