Six Indonesian movies have received recognition at the 21st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in Busan, South Korea.
ix Indonesian movies have received recognition at the 21st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in Busan, South Korea, which runs from Oct. 8 to Oct. 14.
The six movies, namely Nyai (Queen), Istirahatlah Kata-kata (Solo Solitude), Tiga Dara (Three Sassy Sisters) and Athirah as well as the short films Memoria and On the Origin of Fear, are screened at various cinemas in Busan's city center.

As reported by news agency Antara, Indonesia's participation at the event was supported by the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) in an attempt to promote the country's film industry. “Hopefully we can develop the local film industry and help it enter the international market,” said Bekraf deputy chairman Ricky Pesik.
Held for the first time in 1996, the BIFF is considered to be one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. (kes)
