Spotify's musical map reveals cities' most popular songs

Digital music service Spotify has launched a map of music types that currently popular in various countries and cities around the world.

igital music service Spotify has launched a map of music types that currently popular in various countries and cities around the world.

Aimed at entertaining travelers who enjoy listening to their own “soundtrack” while going on a trip, to the point that they have a different soundtrack for different destinations, the Musical Map of the World 2.0 allows users to zoom in or out on the map and click a destination they like.

According to kompas.com, when clicking on Surabaya in East Java, the feature displayed a list of the 100 most popular songs in the city, which was topped by "Let Me Love You" by DJ Snake, Marshmello and Justin Bieber.

Aside from Surabaya, Spotify only included Tangerang and Bekasi among the available Indonesian cities on the map. But the company stated that the feature would be updated every week, meaning that users can expect to see new cities appearing on the map.  

Of course, after discovering the songs of your destination, you can listen to them or download them directly to your phone. (fmn/kes)
