T

he newest Adobe app Adobe Scan allows your phone to become your way to scan documents, receipts, business cards, and whatever else you’ve found yourself scrambling to bring to your office scanner.

To use the app, you’ll need a free Adobe account, though the app does not make it clear how much storage the free tier comes with.

When it comes time to actually scan a document, use the camera icon and line up your paper to fill the screen. You’ll be able to scan one page at a time, and the process requires at least moderate lighting.

You’ll also be able to edit your documents with the icons along the bottom of the screen. From left to right, the icons are: capture or import more photos to add to the scan, reorder the pages, crop, rotate 90 degrees, switch the coloring from auto-corrected to original, grayscale, or whiteboard, and delete.

Then, you’ll be able to save as a PDF, which will store it in the Document Cloud, or you can share to create a link. (sul/kes)
