The giant flower, which is known for its pungent odor, is one meter in diameter and 2.5 meters tall. It only blossoms for 48 hours.
Rumah Perubahan public relations officer Dinar Wulandari told kompas.com that it was the fifth flower that has bloomed in the location. “The fourth flower bloomed on June 14,” she added.

Dinar mentioned that the latest blooming corpse flower was planted seven years ago.
In addition to the Amorphophallus titanium, Rumah Perubahan also grows Amorphophallus gigas, Amorphohallus muelleri and Amorphophallus variabilis. Amorphophallus muelleri, which has the smallest size, was said to bloom more frequently compared with the Amorphophallus titanium.
Originating from Sumatra's rainforests, Amorphophallus titanium can grow in a dry and humid area, such as Bekasi and Jakarta. (jes/kes)
