Speaking to the press on Thursday, lead singer Erix said the album was made in 30 days, with the band traveling around Papua to record it. The journey started in Raja Ampat, Erix said, adding that the band stayed there for two weeks to explore the area while recording.

"It turned out we were more productive because there is no signal there. And after two weeks, we finished recording there and moved on to Manokwari," Erix said during the event in Jakarta, as quoted by kompas.com.

Along with fellow members Ari, Dory and Toni, the band recorded their music outdoors while exploring the waters of Papua. External noises leaking into the music wasn't an issue, Erix said. "The only challenge was the wind," he said.

Despite the challenges, the band managed to produce 16 tracks for Salam Indonesia, including "Mendaki" (Hiking), "Hilang" (Disappear), "Waktu" (Time) and "Berpetualang" (Adventure). (liz/kes)
